So here we are.
Over the last four entries I've walked you through my report on the state of AI after three years of observation. The disappointment. The four trillion dollar question mark. The 85% ceiling and the agent information loss problem. And the reframe: from automation to amplification, from replacing humans to expanding what humans can do.
If you've read this far, you know that I think the technology is real, the value is real, but the framing has been catastrophically wrong. And wrong framing leads to wrong plans, wrong plans lead to wrong execution, and wrong execution at the scale of four trillion dollars leads to... well, roughly what we're seeing right now.
So what does a good plan actually look like?
I've spent three years on the observe and assess phases of my methodology. The last year or so has been spent moving into the plan and execute phases. And rather than just give you principles, I want to show you what I'm actually building, because I think it illustrates the thesis better than any abstraction could.
At FenxLabs, we are building what we call the ARCHIMEDES stack. Three layers, each designed around a simple premise: AI should augment humans as efficiently and as safely as possible. Not replace them. Not run unsupervised. Augment them, with humans in control at every level.
The first layer is ARC, our Adaptive Routing Controller. It’s an AI model smart router, and the problem it solves is straightforward: right now, if you use AI at any kind of scale, you are locked into specific models from specific providers at whatever price they set. ARC lets you combine multiple models into a single unified gateway, with automatic routing based on customizable routing logic and a bring-your-own-model / bring-your-own-key approach. What this means in practice is that you can route different tasks to different models based on what each model is actually good at, rather than sending everything to the most expensive frontier model and hoping for the best. This can drive inference costs down by up to 70%, and that number is going to matter enormously as agentic workloads enter the mix and inference demand explodes. We currently do not even have the energy infrastructure to run these workloads at scale. Cost efficiency isn't a nice-to-have. It's a constraint that has to be solved.
The second layer is HIM, our Hybrid Infrastructure Mesh. This is an abstraction layer across all computational devices, including consumer devices, that effectively builds a highway system for compute. In a constrained environment like the EU, where building massive new data centers faces real regulatory and energy limitations, this matters. But more broadly, HIM is about democratizing AI compute. Making it accessible beyond the handful of companies that can afford to build their own infrastructure. And critically, it provides the highway infrastructure for the third layer.
The third layer is EDES, our Ephemeral Distributed Execution System. This is where the agent thesis meets reality. EDES is a task-based multi-agent orchestration engine, but with a critical difference from the autonomous agent narrative I spent Entry 3 dismantling: it relies on humans to trigger tasks. A human initiates a task. The system composes a swarm of agents that work together, dividing the task into subtasks, executing them across the distributed compute layer, and delivering results. The agents are ephemeral, they spin up for the task and dissolve when it's done. The human stays in control throughout.
This is not autonomous AI. This is human-supervised partial automation, built on an augmentation philosophy, designed to work within the real constraints of the technology rather than pretending those constraints don't exist.
And that, if I'm being honest, is what the whole stack is designed to enable. Humans in control. AI as the amplifier. Efficiency and accessibility baked into every layer so that this technology doesn't remain the exclusive playground of companies that can afford to burn billions.
I share this not as a sales pitch but because I think it illustrates what building for reality looks like, as opposed to building for the hype cycle. Every layer of ARCHIMEDES is a direct response to a problem identified in the earlier entries of this series. The cost problem from Entry 2. The reliability problem from Entry 3. The augmentation thesis from Entry 4. The stack is the plan, and the plan is a direct product of three years of observation and assessment.
Now, zooming out from what we're building specifically, I want to close with the broader implications of where I think this is all heading.
The companies that will thrive in this environment are the ones that recognize the shift from rigid specialization to flexible generalism. This means hiring differently, looking for skills and adaptability rather than the most padded CV. It means valuing people who can operate across domains, who can learn fast, who can use AI tools to extend their reach into areas they weren't formally trained in. The ratio of specialists to generalists is shifting, and the companies that see this first will have a real advantage.
This changes society. Drastically, but gradually. When you increase the range of motion for individuals, when you lower the barrier to entry across domains, when you make it possible for more people to participate in more kinds of work and creation and problem-solving, you change the fabric of how societies function. The internet took twenty years to reshape the world, and it's still reshaping it. AI will follow a similar trajectory… but faster, much faster… and the people who approach this with patience and good judgment will be the ones who capture the real value.
I know that's not the most thrilling conclusion. After three years of observing this technology, after watching the hype cycle spin up and start to spin down, after sitting through the disappointment and coming out the other side with a clearer picture, the most honest thing I can tell you is this: the singularity is not an explosion. It's something we build to, in stages, with care, and with a clear-eyed understanding of what this technology actually is.
And what it actually is, is an amplifier of human capability. That's the finding. That's the report. And now, that's what we're building for.
